Problem the startup solves:
We solve the problem of creating PDF documents and images manually which is a time-consuming, error prone and tedious process for many businesses. By automating the creation of these documents using an API, reusable templates it helps businesses save time and resources and increase productivity.
By using HTML to do this instead of the traditional methods it allows for more flexibility, consistency, reusability and integration with other HTML tools and frameworks.
Progress and Current Status:
The company is a bootstrapped company, that has not accepted any VC Funding or outside income. Entirely built from the ground up, we are still at the growth stage.
What is an Inspiring Story about the Startup?:
One day I was sitting there creating PDF Documents manually and filling in data and I thought to myself, there has got to be a better way. After researching and discovering that you can use HTML, the same technology used to build websites to also build PDFs and Images I thought to myself, well that makes sense!
Now I can use my background in web development, and utilize all the technologies, frameworks, and resources that make beautiful web pages, to design beautiful PDFs and Images. It just makes sense, I no longer have to draw on a canvas pixel by pixel, in a pain staking process to line things up, and get them to look correct at multiple sizes. I can get things like reports, barcodes, image styles, and more to just work with very little effort.
Fast forward, after playing around with this concept I set out to build it. The initial vision was to give a way for people to use HTML, or existing web pages to create these things. It has expanded further to now offering re-usable templates, that they can choose from a template gallery, a full blown editor that they can use to build their own templates from, and more.
We plan to not stop there however, and we iterate quickly.
What is a Company the Startup Looks Up to, and Why?:
We take a look at the success JotForm has had and we see a lot of potential for our own success. They started small and became wildly successful, and we truly believe that with persistence and passion the fruits of our labors will pay off. We strive to have the best customer experience, customer support, and document generation platform on the market.
The Company in Four Years Will Be…
Hopefully in 4 years from now this will be a full time job for myself and we will be able to employ many others to help us accelerate to our grand vision of being “THE” document generation platform on the market, competing with the likes of Adobe would be a very high level goal.
