Company / App Name: FenyoNet
What does it do?
This app’s main feature is drawing on the fly a 2D heat map of the user’s wireless network coverage, using a set of measurements and an interpolation algorithm. While drawing the map, it shows a nice rolling measurement chart.
Why do we need it?
No other app on the App Store seems to be able to draw a WiFi coverage heat map based on scientific algorithms. And it is cheaper than using a radio-frequency spectrum analyzer!
Who is it for?
This is for network engineers and every body that wants to trouble any WiFi coverage hassle. More over, the source code is on GitHub, for transparency and teaching.
What makes it stand out from the crowd?
I’ve developed a parallel multi-threaded version of a variation of the Shepard’s method to compute a Inverse Distance Weighting interpolation for the map, that is an algorithm that you will find in most Geographic Information Systems.
